University College

University College is the founding college of the University of Toronto. As a community we celebrate values of non-sectarianism, open education, diversity and inclusion which shows in our range of disciplines, alumni and student activities. University College is home to Canada's oldest student government, the University College Literary and Athletics Society, its own coffee shop; a number of quads and student spaces; as well as a diverse range of academic programs from Sexual Diversity Studies, Canadian Studies to Cognitive Science.

And, our student activities are just as broad - we regularly host intramural sports, pancake brunches, exam de-stressors (sometimes with dogs!), movie nights, coffee houses and tons of other activities. Additionally, we always look forward to new ideas and ways to create a better community. We welcome all incoming students and hope everyone finds a place for themselves at UC.

COMMUTER LIFE

In 2007, University College opened up its Commuter Student Centre (CSC). The CSC is a resource available to Off-Campus students in order to build community among students who travel to school from Toronto and around the GTA. The CSC also has Community Coordinators who are available during the year to assist Off-Campus students and host programming. The CSC also offers:

  • a kitchenette (equipped with a coffee maker, a microwave, and a fridge)

  • a study space

  • a group study room

  • rentable lockers

  • a built in projector screen

It can be found at 79 St. George Street. The University College Off Campus Commission (UCOC) also hosts events at the CSC including regular pancake brunches, board game parties, trips to Hart House Farm and much more! This welcoming space is a way for students to socialize between classes and feel a sense of community. Please contact ucoc@uclit.ca for more information.
